October Scholarships

Levine Scholarship to UNC-Charlotte
The Levine Scholars Program is UNC Charlotte’s most prestigious merit scholarship program that was established in 2009 by benefactors Sandra and Leon Levine. The inaugural class of Levine Scholars entered in the fall semester of 2010 and a new cohort of approximately 20 students is selected to join the program each year. Levine Scholarships are awarded to extraordinary high school seniors based on scholarship, ethical leadership and civic engagement. Students must be nominated by their high school counselor for this scholarship, so please see your counselor ( at least two weeks prior to the deadline) if you want to be nominated. Deadline for student nomination is October 19, 2018. Nominated students must complete their online application (and send all supporting application documents) to UNC-Charlotte by November 1, 2018. The deadline for all nominated students to complete their Levine scholarship application is November 8, 2018.

Morehead-Cain Scholarship to UNC-Chapel Hill
The Morehead-Cain Scholarship was the first merit scholarship established at the first public university in the United States, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Morehead-Cain Scholars are driven leaders possessing the rare combination of potential, principle, and purpose, who seek—and receive—more from their undergraduate experience than academic achievement alone. The full scholarship provides summer programming and unique networking opportunities for students who are destined to impact —positively, profoundly, perpetually—the people and pursuits that will define their life. Each high school in Wilkes County can nominate a candidate for the Morehead-Cain Scholarship, so please see your school counselor (at least three weeks prior to the deadline)  if you want to be considered for school endorsement. Additionally, students may apply directly for this scholarship if you feel you meet the eligibility criteria. The deadline for the scholarship application is October 15.

Park Scholarship to NC State University

The program develops and supports Park Scholars in these areas, preparing them for lifelong contributions to the campus, state, nation, and world. Approximately 35 scholarships are awarded each year. Each high school in Wilkes County can nominate up to two candidates for the Park Scholarship. Please see your school counselor (at least three weeks prior to the deadline) if you want to be considered for school endorsement. Deadline for school endorsement is October 18, 2018. Nominated students must complete their application to NC State and their scholarship application by November 1, 2018.
